Winter/Spring 2007 Teacher Center Information:

According to Education Law 316, Teacher Centers are governed by Policy Boards. The Policy Board has the power to make financial and policy decisions in accordance with state and district policies.  By law, policy boards must be composed of teachers, administrators, representatives of post-secondary education, business and community organizations.  The law stipulates that the majority of the board must be teachers appointed by their union president.  The Policy Board members are available to answer all your Teacher Center Questions.

 Winter/Spring 2007 Teacher Center Information:

 

The East Meadow Teacher Center is offering a course this March entitledLong Island Studies.

This course is being presented by the renowned Long Island historian, Noel Gish.  Mr. Gish taught history at Hauppauge High School for 35 years.  He has written books on Long Island history and has presented his courses in many school districts.  His humorous, engaging course will enable teachers of all disciplines to bring Long Island history into their classrooms. The course begins March 7 and will run for five sessions on Wednesdays.  All teachers are encouraged to register for this course.

 

In addition, he following courses are being offered for the winter/spring semester.  Enrollments are limited.  Register early!

Course Proposal Form:  Any East Meadow teacher – active or retired- interested in offering a Teacher Center course may submit (electronically) a course proposal form.  Proposals should be submitted to the Teacher Center.  Proposals will be forwarded to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for approval.
